New to kite skimming - Thanks

This is the place to talk about riding styles, tricks, conditions, what works, what doesn't on your skimboard. Wondering about what skimboard to get for kiting? Post it all here.

New to kite skimming - Thanks

Postby Fly2Kite » Sat Aug 27, 2011 8:11 pm

I found this site a while ago and have been soaking up the knowledge of the zen masters. Thank you for putting such a great website together.

I recently bought my first skimboard, a very lightly used Surftech Roush Rasta pro, for only $100. I have had only two chances to ride it so far but what a blast! This has to be the best cost to benefit ratio in kiteboarding. The way I see it I've saved 5 or 6 hundred dollars over a good lightwind twintip and I'm already having more fun. Thanks again.

I'm looking forward to riding like the guys in the skim milk videos. I'll post a video in a few years.

Hey Fly2Kite,

Welcome to LTS. Thank you for your kind words. I am sure that I speak for most of the guys and gals on LTS when I say that your post is one of the main reasons I started LTS, and why so many have contributed their time and passion here. Its all about sharing the sport we love, and helping others along to the same joy. It keeps me going, and its hard for me to believe that I started this site almost 5 years ago!

The surftech Rasta Pro is a great board, and will serve you well - especially for $100 clams. Good job! I look forward to seeing your footage in the coming years! And you helping others along the same path... 8)
