landing airs

Postby Main » Thu Oct 10, 2013 6:59 am

Hi guys

ive been getting some good airs but my landings are getting too hard - and im worried it wont be long till i snap a board. I'm launching off waves and chop with my kite at 45 and landing most of the time tail first but occasionally flat. what i want to know is should I be using my kite more on jumps as if I was on a twin tip eg sending it to 12 to get lift and diving it just before landing to get speed and take some of the vertical force out of the landing ? or should I be letting the bar out to get more float?

basically Im after a softer landing

thanks for any tips

Hey Main,

Welcome to LTS! Thanks for joining us here, and posting your question. If you are after softer landings you definitely need to sheet out your bar after take off and bring your kite up as you launch. If you have your kite at 45 degrees you are going to takeoff hot, and land with a lot of forward momentum, which is fine, but not what you want for a softer landing. As you come down move your kite back down to give you some forward momentum so you don't land and sink. Give that a try and it should help you out.

Also you can send your kite just like on a TT, but it takes more timing and patience to get a sent jump when you are strapless.

Hope that helps!
