Kite position on waves

Hi

Im surfing in onshore winds, right-handers (waves), on my backhand with the kite in my left hand with leading edge going right. after a bottom turn followed by a turn off the top, i then come straight down the wave towards the kite and the lines go really slack. the kite sometimes stalls or falls and then catches wind and rips me forward real hard. what should I be doing with my kite during these top turns ? I fly the kite low so should I have it higher? OR be turning it back the other way ? OR ???

Cheers guys

there are several factors involved here.. I'm not a pro and not massively good at theory but advice is:

1. the kite needs to fly at same speed as you, drifting downwind parked in front of you, stable in the air
2. the kite needs to fly low (up or below 45). the higher it is the least control you have and the slower it gets..
3. the kite always needs to turn before the board, not after

which kite do you use btw? some low aspect kites or freestyle - wake C type are not ideal for this type of riding as they won't drift properly and in a stable way

hope that helps!
