Are you killing it on your surfboard? Have a question about riding styles or a trick? What surfboards work, what doesn't. This is the place to talk about your surfboard gear.

08 oxbow retro fish

I'm short on funds and want a board, and I saw this board at a local shop for a way better price than the higher end stuff and way better build than the cheaper stuff (around $400 CA):

http://www.bicsportna.com/oxbow/retrofish.html

It's a 5'10" x 20.5" x 2.5" fish and comes with FCS G5 fins and I'm 5'10", 170 lbs. I've been that as long as I can keep my kite in the air, this board will get me going upwind in minimal wind. Is this worth buying for a lightwind board/something to learn wave riding with in smaller waves?

Thanks,

Sep

I'm also interested in what others think about wave riding with quad retro fishes. Is 6'2 x 22" too large for a guy who's 6'4" and 190?

Bet it would work great depending on how it holds up. esp if your mostly low winding it and just starting into strapless riding. Almost anything is fun for light air learning. Looks like it would be plenty fun in shorebreak.
