SOME S-KILLIT INFO AND REVIEW!!

Postby JonModica » Sat Oct 17, 2009 2:23 pm

Sorry for the delay guys!
I am in my last semester of my Bachelor's degree and don't have much free time right now!!!
anyway.
The reason you probably havent seen many reviews, is that the first order of skillets were fairly limited. So not many are out there!
There is another batch (bigger one) coming in a few weeks!! so you'll see more then!!!

HERE IS MY HONEST FIRST IMPRESSION AND WHAT IVE HEARD FROM OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE TRIED IT!!

I personally thought it was a bit big for me, but it seems everyone ive talked to really liked the size.
I will try to get a few people to post on here soon!

When i rode it back to back with my 5'6 skillet, it seemed a bit better for lighter winds, but less skatey. I have to admit it
surfs pretty good though! Definitely a good board for both kiting and surfing on.

Im really happy to say that our new construction (more traditional surfboard) feels alot better. The board actually has flex now!!!

I think for most people the 5'10 will be great, but there might be a few different sizes next year!!!!

Im not good at ranting, so if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!!!

Thanks Jon.

I've read that you "break boards like you are putting on shoes" so I have to ask about durability. Do heel dents lead to breaking like farting leads to pooping? Does the Skillit get heel dents, have your broken any, etc.? How does it do more powered up and (blasphemy) strapped?

Thanks,
Droffats

I havent ridden a strapped surfboard in over 3 years....so i have no clue how it does strapped! haha

SOMETIMES heel dents leads to breaking. Not because it dents, but because it separates the glass from the foam.
With epoxy boards (like these) it will dent, but not separate.
While most people think the old construction is stronger, because it doesnt dent (just crack), it ISNT!!!

I havent broken one YET! but i have only had one for 3-4 months. I would say most people would have a hard
time breaking them without help. (rock or something)

Hey Gray,
Ive had ALOT of different shapers in the last few years.
Cabrinha makes 90% of my boards. But from time to time i like to branch out just to make sure
im not getting stuck in a routine.
I contacted Lee Britain at Roguewaveboards.com for my latest board.
I really like it. His construction is unreal.
Tell him i said hello!
