Are any of the new wakesurf boards any fun to kite with? too much rocker?

looking for something between skim and small strapeless surfboard for flatwater/chop strapless freestyle.

Welcome to LTS.

Check out the Phase5 line, and specifically the Prop or the Icon. I used one of these board for 4 years, and it is still one of my favorites. They are very durable, and rip. Check the review here:

Last year I helped design a kite specific model based on similar features, but with certain tweaks for kiting. Hopefully, those will be available soon! Here is that board:
