Has anyone ridden a JS?

Are you killing it on your surfboard? Have a question about riding styles or a trick? What surfboards work, what doesn't. This is the place to talk about your surfboard gear.

Has anyone ridden a JS?

Has anyone ridden a JS surfboard? Their summer boards look like they would be good for kiting.

I'm thinking about a blak box 5'10 x 19 3/4". I'm 6'4 and 190lb

What do you think??

Last year I bought a used JS surfboard - a 5'10" Thruster tri fin. I loved it till I snapped it in half- I forgot I was wearing a board leash ( I usually do not) and did a big jump off the board and onto the beach. But the board got caught up in the surf and snapped in half. Pretty bazzar.

This year I bought another JS surfboard- a 5'11" Thruster tri fin. Basically, I'm buying the local pro surfers used boards and they work really well for strapless kitesurfing. This one weighs only 6/7lbs. making it easier to hold when jumping off a wave, etc. They can be thrown around really hard for tight top/ bottom turns, etc.

I'm going to order a custom JS same size with extra glass on the top so my feet don't ding it up so bad- and I think a new board will withstand the abuse much better. Some people swear by epoxy boards, but the epoxy board I have just doesn't handle the same.

Best of luck.
