Strapless Kite Camp?

Are you killing it on your surfboard? Have a question about riding styles or a trick? What surfboards work, what doesn't. This is the place to talk about your surfboard gear.

Strapless Kite Camp?

Postby JBone » Sat Oct 23, 2010 11:07 am

Just thought I throw it out there any Pro riders (hint: Jon  ) ever think about running a kite camp for strapless riding. I know it's all about practice and time on the water but it would be so cool to get together with riders sharing the same passion learning new tricks, riding waves, etc etc. My passion is riding surfboard in the waves but always eager to learn new moves. I get inspired just watching people ride and pushing hard on the beach. The vids help but just not the same.

I second that! Jon graciously did a clinic at last year's Tampa race and seemed to have a lot of interest from the crowd. I was tied up in a conversation about 100 feet away, so I missed the whole darn thing..... :(

Hey all.
Haha. Im honored you would request such a thing. I would be more than happy to do a strapless/wave clinic. I was actually just on the phone with the Cabrinha boys about possibly doing one in the Cayman Islands in January!

1. Would anyone else be interested? If so please post it so I can get an idea on a number of people.
2. Where would you want to go?
3. When works best for everyone?
4. Would it be helpful if I got another rider like Damien Leroy involved?

THANKS!

I think it would be a great idea and a nice break from the Michigan cold.

If you are gauging interest, I would be interested too.

me too.

coming from the UK, the atlantic/carribean side would be better.

as long as its warm, windy with a few waves i'm happy.

couple of date options would be useful.

How long is a good camp? I was thinking do 4 days, just in case there is no wind. If there is wind more than 2, i won't charge, we'll just ride and have fun!
