Can't grab the board...

I'm trying to move to the next level with strapless airs and board grabs; I've managed to get pretty good at ollies and small strapless jumps (I'm 72 kilos on a 6'1" Bufo TC Hydroflex thruster surfboard) but no matter how I try I can't grab the damn board. I want to be able to do bigger jumps, airborne transitions and backrolls holding onto the board (and eventually be able to put it back down and ride away), but can't manage to reach the board with either hand once I get it airborne - I've been trying both methods I've seen on videos: (1) reach down upwind of my front leg to grab the upwind edge of the board (the edge that just came out of the water) just foward of my front foot, & (2) take my "back" hand off the bar and reach foward between my feet to grab the downwind edge of the board. Are there any instructional videos or other resources out there to help me figure this out? And no, I'm not a "little person" with abnormally short arms... TIA A-Bomb
